Espace Killy: A Resort for Everyone

Espace Killy is the third biggest ski area in France, linking together two iconic resorts: Val d’lsere and Tignes.

Both resorts boast exceptional facilities, and were built to host guests of all ages and abilities. Despite this, they have clear differences that means they can offer something to every guest.

In essence, Espace Killy is the ultimate resort for everyone. Whether you’re looking for challenging pistes, great après or child-friendly fun, you’ll find it in Espace Killy.

Family-Friendly Fun

The resort offers something for a wide range of age groups, making it especially suited to the family experience.

Upon arrival, families are greeted with a personalised welcome, with shops and services on hand to all from the offset. Events are held for all ages, ranging from concerts to video game tournaments, and even a few yoga festivals.

For children in particular, there are a variety of activities on offer to keep them occupied. Alongside children’s villages and recreational centres, there are professional babysitters available, who will take care of your children in the comfort of your chalet.

Both the Val d’lsere and Tignes resorts offer support for beginners and professionals, with the Tignes resort offering a ski kindergarten for 2-4 year olds, operating in a safe environment in the hands of capable professionals.

For the Beginners

Espace Killy is home to a variety of pistes!

For those who consider themselves beginners with little to no experience, the Tignes resort provides ski areas that are suited to all skill levels.

Areas dubbed “quiet ski” areas are the perfect starting point for children and beginners, with reference snow parks and professional tuition on hand for those looking to grasp the basics.

In essence, the resort makes it easy to progress from a pure beginner to a more advanced skier, or simply take it easy and ski for the sake of skiing, while still enjoying the overall experience.

For the Experts

While Escape Killy caters towards children and beginners, the more advanced skier still has plenty to look forward to.

Both Val d’lsere and Tignes boast exceptional off-piste areas, all of which provide a range of different challenges across varying terrain. Not only are these areas available, but they are extremely accessible; all access to the off-piste areas can be gained through a lift system, avoiding the unnecessary hike back up the slope, resulting in a far smoother experience.

Val d’lsere in particular boasts a variety of steep slopes, couloirs and freestyle skiing competitions, alongside options for high altitude glacier skiing. From the beginner to the intermediate to the expert, there is an abundance of choice for any who choose to get involved.

For the Snowboarders

Espace Killy isn’t limited to skiers alone.

The Tignes resort is known for housing world-class snowboarders, who use the parks to train as well as compete.

The same principles apply here as they do with skiing; the resort caters to you regardless of your level of skill or experience. There are nursery slopes in Le Lac for the beginners, alongside the terrain park on Palafour for the adrenaline junkies.

Whether you travel by board or skis, there’s a park for you to take it easy, a park for you to learn, and a park for you to push yourself.

On a Budget

For those on a budget, Espace Killy is the ideal holiday destination.

Offering various packages and discounted rates (including free passes for various activities), as well as free admission to the lounge, your experience will be fun as well as affordable.

Families are also able to take advantage of the family offer for lift passes. If your family consists of at least 4 members, with at least 2 of them being children, the children’s discount applies to everyone, meaning every member of the family benefits from the discount!

But this November we had already a good snowfall, about 50 centimeters of fresh powder fell recently in the French Alps. In areas like Tignes it’s already possible to ski, Val d’Isère is getting ready and it looks great as well as Sainte Foy Tarentaise. The most part of the resorts are opening the 25th November, including 3Valleys, Espace Killy, Paradiski and many more.

The old mountaineers say that snow in November means it’s going to be a great season. The temperatures just got really cold already, the nights are freezing around -10C°!

Ride Your Time experts are already on the mountains, we are skiing in the glacier and making some nice ski-touring around Espace Killy. These are the pictures of the actual conditions up-there. It’s possible to sk already, but some more snowfalls are needed in order to cover also the lower areas of the ski resorts.
